چکیده

This study presents an analytical model for estimating minimum horizontal stress in hydraulic fracturing stimulations. The conventional Diagnostic Fracture Injection Test (DFIT) is not practical ultra-tight formations, leading to the need pump-in/flowback tests. However, ambiguities results of these tests have limited their application. proposed based on linear diffusivity equation and material balance, which analytically solved verified using a commercially available numerical simulator. generates graph pressure drop its derivative are plotted versus developed solution time function. closure determined when slope deviates from linearity. was applied several cycles field flowback found eliminate ambiguity associated with identifying fracture closure. Furthermore, In-situ stresses estimated this approach via downhole strain measurement synthetic data fully 3D commercial technique outperformed other methods analyzing challenging injection/shut-in tests, showing improved reducing uncertainty parameters. expected scale down multiple trials provide reliable estimation stress.

Numerical Simulation of Cavitation in Mixed Flow Pump

The purpose of this study is to investigate the performance and three-dimensional behavior of the flow in a mixed flow pump and the way cavitation phenomenon is affected by different parameters such as fluid temperature, pump speed and flow rate. Computational fluid dynamic software FLUENT 6.3 was utilized to simulate the whole flow field of the pump. RNG k-ε model combined with standard wall f...

Experimental Study and Three-Dimensional Numerical Flow Simulation in a Centrifugal Pump when Handling Viscous Fluids

In this paper the centrifugal pump performances are tested when handling water and viscous oils as Newtonian fluids. Also, this paper shows a numerical simulation of the three-dimensional fluid flow inside a centrifugal pump. For these numerical simulations the SIMPLEC algorithm is used for solving governing equations of incompressible viscous/turbulent flows through the pump. The k-ε turbulenc...

Numerical simulation of in-cylinder tumble flow field measurements and comparison to experimental results

This paper presents a comparison between measured and predicted results of the in-cylinder tumble flow and the flow coefficient generated by a port-valve-liner assembly on a steady-flow test bench. In this study, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods were employed to gain further insight into characteristics of an engine. The purpose was to advance understanding of the stationary turbulenc...

Numerical Simulation Ona Pump Operating

This paper deals with pump as turbine (PAT) as a feasible solution to the energy problems in rural and hilly areas. PAT provides an economical alternative to actual turbines especially for pico and microhydropower generation. PAT is essentially a pump operating in turbine mode by changing direction of flow and hence the direction of rotation of the impeller. In the forthcoming discussion, an in...
